Summary
Paul’s symptoms started with pain after ejaculating and an uncomfortable feeling in his testicles at forty-nine years old during 2013. After two years he went to see a doctor urologist because of these symptoms.
The urologist unexpectedly sent Paul to have his prostate measured. The results were that he had an enlarged prostate. The doctor said there was medicine for this but it would not cure it. The doctor also advised Paul he did not need to take the medicine so Paul didn’t.
The doctor also asked Paul about his urination and Paul advised him he urinates twice at night and every two hours during the day.
Paul continued to have pain on ejaculation and he was also starting to notice he didn’t want to get an erection very often.
In 2015 his girlfriend wasn’t very happy about Paul’s erectile issues as they were trying for a baby. Paul had started to notice his sperm was weak and his partner at this time unfortunately had a miscarriage. The stress on the relationship caused the couple to split and by 2018 when he had a new girlfriend Paul found he was ejaculating very quickly during sexual encounters. Due to the pain Paul did not want to have sex frequently.
Paul remembers going to a hotel with his girlfriend and feeling that he needed to meticulously plan any sexual situation. His girlfriend mentioned there was a pill he could take to delay ejaculation.
Generally, after ejaculation Paul felt extremely weak the next day.
By August 2018 Paul was urinating very frequently. Once whilst visiting the USA, he had to carefully plan his daily bathroom trips to friendly restaurants with bathrooms. Although he was urinating frequently between August 2018 and August 2019, Paul did not consider his urination a problem.
By May 2020, when Paul took on a new job as a computer engineer it was a stressful time and his urination became worse.
“Paul started to urinate every fifty minutes”
This frequent urination carried on and also became accompanied with a very strong burning sensation that was causing Paul real suffering. Paul went to a doctor who recommended Xatral an alpha blocker to relax the urination. Paul did not take the tablets as the doctor said a side effect would be to not have sperm. Paul also did not want to put chemicals in his body.
In 2020 Paul started Chinese therapy with acupuncture and herbs which helped reduce the burning from intense to mediocre. Paul continued with a combination of Chinese and Korean medicine between May 2020-November 2020 and it helped reduce the burning sensation. Paul however still did not feel 100% healthy.
